ASUS has announced a new 27-inch monitor for professional users, such as photo or video editors. The new PA279Q ProArt, as the screen is called, comes factory calibrated ans has a colour range of 99% of the Adobe Wide Gamut RGB spectrum.
The PA279Q features a 27-inch AH-IPS panel with a 2560×1440 pixel resolution. ASUS claims a dynamic contrast ratio of 100,000,000:1 and 10-bits RGB. The monitor has a specified brightness of 350 cd/m² and a response time of 6 ms. It offers extensive configuration options for both colour and gamma.
The monitor’s connectivity includes DisplayPort In, DisplayPort Out, HDI and dual-link DVI. A 6-port USB 3.0 hub and 9-in-1 card reader have also been integrated. ASUS’ new creation has 3W stereo speakers and features 3.5 mm audio jacks for both in and output. The screen can be rotated, tilted and adjusted in height. It has dimensions of 640 x 560 x 240 mm and weighs 10.2 kg.
ASUS’ PA289Q ProArt will be officially presented at next week’s Computex conference. Details on pricing and availability are likely to follow soon after.
