ASUS has announced a new monitor at Computex. The ASUS PA279Q is a 27-inch screen with an AH-IPS panel and a 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution. The screen is suited for colour critical applications and image editing because of its excellent viewing angles and the fact the screen supports 99% of the Adobe RGB spectrum, or 100% of the sRGB spectrum and 120% of the NTSC spectrum. ASUS claims a realistic colour reproduction, as the screen is capable of producing up to 1074 million colours thanks to its 10-bit panel.
A brightness of 350 cd/m² is specified for the monitor, whose colours can be adjusted separately (R,G,B,C,M,Y). The monitor is height-adjustable and can be rotated and tilted.
