Japanese manufacturer Ratoc Systems has announced an interesting card reader. The REX-WIFISD1 card reader is compatible with a variety of memory cards, including micro-, mini-, SD, SDHC and SDXC. It also has a USB 2.0 connector to attach external storage. As the name of the reader suggests, it communicates over WiFi. It can be used with the 802.11 b/g/n protocols. The REX-WIFISD1 card reader has an integrated battery of 3000 mAh which should last upwards of nine hours of consecutive file transfers. The card reader has dimensions of 79 x 118 x 14 mm and weighs 120 grams.
Ratoc has developed apps for Android and iOS users to retrieve their data. The card reader has a converted recommended price of roughly £60. It’s not yet known whether Ratoc will launch it in Europe as well.
